To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
Review by Sofia C-E., Youth Reviewer
Have you ever had one of those crushes where you can't tell the person how you feel, so you catch yourself writing love letters to them for fun?
“To All the Boys I've Loved Before” is exactly the movie to watch if you did that. Lara Jean is a sophomore in high school at Alder High School in Oregon. Back in middle school, she wrote a bunch of love letters to all the boys she loved before and put them inside a box in her closet, and she even put the addresses on them. A couple of years later, her younger sister, Kitty discovered these letters and ended up mailing them all. They all got sent out, and Peter, being one of the boys that got one, and having been previously broken up with, made a bet with Lara Jean to fake a date to make his ex jealous — with no strings attached. I enjoyed watching this movie and reading the book because it was so fascinating to see how different it was on screen than on paper. What I loved about this movie was how perfect the actors were for this, because I cannot ever picture anybody else as Lara Jean other than Lana Condor. This is one of my favourite movies ever to exist. In addition, I highly recommend watching this movie because if you’re like me, you always love a good rom-com. After watching this one, there are also three other movies in this series!
