Luke Michielsen

Oct. 28, 2022 - Kitchener singer-songwriter Luke Michielsen popped by Heffner Studio to share some songs off of his new full-length album, Landlocked (2021). Because of difficulties during the pandemic, we had to reschedule with Luke multiple times, so we're very excited to be finally releasing this intimate performance!

PREM ROCK AND FRESH KILS

Jul. 15, 2022 - When we found out that Prem Rock (New York) and Fresh Kils (Toronto) were coming through Kitchener for the Canadian portion of their tour, we were beyond excited to get them into Heffner Studio. Without hesitation this powerhouse of lyricism and hip hop production did not disappoint!

KELLY WELCH - RED EAGLE WOMAN

Jan. 18, 2022 - We are very excited to share the second instalment of our Heffner Studio Sessions series, recorded live at Kitchener Public Library. Kelly Welch - Red Eagle Woman is a Crane Clan musician from Treaty Nine territory. In this performance, Kelly shares beautiful songs and stories about her healing journey and the handmade drum that has helped her find her own voice.

"I was very shy. I was afraid to sing in public before. I was afraid to speak up and use my voice. And in carrying this drum it has shown me that I have a place and that I matter. She helps me to use that voice and to be loud."

It was such an honour to have Kelly into Heffner Studio to share with us a few captivating spirit songs that have helped her to heal and grow.

JESSIE T.

Nov. 30, 2021 - When Jessie T stopped by Heffner Studio to play some of her new songs, we knew we were in for a special performance. Jessie is well-known for her melodic storytelling and a voice that transcends genres while establishing herself as a premiere Canadian country music performer. It was an honour to have Jessie T in for the debut Heffner Studio Session.
