The Waterloo Region Branch of Ontario Ancestors houses their collection of local and regional genealogical and reference materials in the Grace Schmidt Room. These materials include family histories, cemetery and census transcriptions, church records and local history books.
Formed in 1972, the Waterloo-Wellington Branch served the research interests of Wellington and Waterloo Counties until late 2000. In 2001, the branch split into the Waterloo Region and Wellington County Branches. The Wellington County Branch transferred its collection to the Guelph Public Library, while the Waterloo Region Branch continues to maintain its collection at Kitchener Public Library.
The Waterloo Region Branch is a virtual branch. For more information, visit waterloo.ogs.on.ca.
