We Have A Ghost by Christopher Landon
Review by Penelope B., Youth Reviewer
Christopher Landon directed the movie “We Have A Ghost”, which is a supernatural comedy. The film is based on the short story by Geoff Manaugh entitled “Ernest”. This film stars: David Harbour, Jahi Winston, and Anthony Mackie.
When the Presley family moves into the “House of Death”, Kevin (Jahi Winston) finds a ghost living in the house. When Kevin first meets the spirit of Ernest (David Harbour), he takes a video of him on his phone. However, the world gets involved when Kevin’s Dad (Anthony Mackie) finds the video and posts it online. Kevin’s father cares about Ernest only because he is making the family money and fame, but Kevin has a different plan: to free Ernest into the afterlife. To set him free, Kevin goes on a wild adventure with his friend to discover how Ernest died, fleeing from government operatives and learning valuable lessons about family along the way.
What I liked about “We Have A Ghost” was that the movie wasn’t too scary or sad; it made you feel happy. I also liked that it was a murder mystery, comedy, and adventure in the same film. It was entertaining throughout the length of it, so you never got bored watching it.
I enjoyed watching “We Have A Ghost” because it was so funny and enjoyable to watch with family and friends. After watching “We Have A Ghost”, I would definitely watch the movie over again. “The Haunted Mansion” is also an excellent movie to watch because it is somewhat like “We Have A Ghost”. These movies are similar because they are spooky, entertaining, and filled with ghosts.
