Over 100 new board games are now available from Kitchener Public Library.

Each game has been thoughtfully selected by local Psychology Professor, Dr. Daniela O'Neill, for its ability to develop children's language, thinking and social skills through play.

"Hands-on learning through play is such a fantastic way to build literacy skills in children. Beyond being fun, these games also reinforce literacy concepts like letter recognition, reading comprehension and storytelling mechanics. We are so grateful for Daniela’s partnership and generous donation which made this collection possible." — Mary Chevreau, CEO, Kitchener Public Library

This collection is made possible through a financial donation by Daniela O'Neill in memory of her mother, Maria C. O'Neill.

Maria was a lifelong reader and supporter of libraries. She loved conversation, books and playing board and card games. Maria shared these passions throughout her life with her children, grandchildren, friends and many students as an ESL teacher in Toronto.

The board games are available to all Kitchener Public Library cardholders. Board games can be placed on hold online and picked up at any library location.
