KITCHENER, ON — Kitchener Public Library is proud to select “Son of a Trickster” by Eden Robinson as the 2022 One Book, One Community read. Robinson is a critically acclaimed, best-selling novelist and short story writer from the Haisla and Heiltsuk First Nations. Her novel, “Son of a Trickster”, was shortlisted for the Giller Prize and is the first novel in the Trickster trilogy.

Celebrating Canadian authors for 21 years, One Book, One Community is Canada’s longest running community reading program. One Book, One Community connects readers across our community through the shared experiences of reading and discussing the same book.

“It is powerful to have people from different backgrounds, with different experiences, coming together as a community to read and experience something together,” said Mary Chevreau, CEO, Kitchener Public Library. “We are excited to share ‘Son of a Trickster’ with our community and we are grateful to give Canada’s longest-running community reading program a new home at Kitchener Public Library.”

One Book, One Community will culminate with an in-person celebration with Eden Robinson at Kitchener Public Library on Tuesday, November 22 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event will be released on Friday, October 21 at 9 a.m.
