Top Gun: Maverick by Joseph Kosinski
Review by Haadiya A., Youth Reviewer
I am not sure where to start. The action and the rush of adrenaline were outside of this world. “Top Gun: Maverick” is a “legacy sequel” to the 1986 film “Top Gun”. It is an Action-Adventure film and one of the best I've ever seen.
The movie features one of my favourite actors Tom Cruise, who plays the role of Lt. Pete Maverick Mitchell in the movie. After serving as the Navy's top aviator for more than 30 years, he is assigned to teach a group of detachment graduates for a dangerous mission. Throughout the movie, Maverick must overcome his past and some of his greatest fears. At the same time, participating in a mission requires sacrifices from all the pilots.
It was tough for me to choose a favourite character, they all had a great built character and were highly likeable. The movie was very well put together. The thrilling plot keeps you on your toes and the perfect hint of romance made the movie even more enjoyable.
I can not write this review and not mention the awesome visual effects, it all seemed so realistic. I highly recommend watching “Top Gun” on the big screen. The movie takes care of a very delicate and painful matter of letting go and facing your fears, and that's where I could connect to the film.
“It's time to let go”
I loved every second of the thrilling movie, from the plot to the characters to the visual effects. This movie is truly one of my favourites and I recommend “Top Gun: Maverick” to anyone who loves adventure and action.
