“Tale of the Nine Tailed” is a captivating, fantasy K-drama that takes viewers on an enthralling journey filled with mythical creatures, supernatural powers, and heartfelt emotions. Season 1 of this television series aired from October to December 2020. The show revolves around the lives of legendary creatures known as nine-tailed foxes, from Korean folklore. Lee Yeon is a nine-tailed fox who protects the human world from malicious supernatural beings, while Nam Ji-ah is a fearless television producer determined to uncover the truth behind the existence of these creatures. Together, they embark on an epic quest filled with danger, romance, and heartbreaking sacrifices.
“As long as I'm around, the wind belongs to you.”
- Lee Yeon
This TV-show is one of my favourite K-dramas. I loved the mystical storyline and amazing characters. Each episode is well structured and introduced new plot twists and heart-wrenching events. There are just so many emotions packed into this drama and the director did a really good job at balancing these emotions. The show also has a very good balance of action scenes and sweet romantic moments. The chemistry between the two main leads, Lee Yeon and Nam Ji-ah, is off the charts! I loved all the characters. They were all very well-structured, but my absolute favourite would be Lee Yeon. I mean, who wouldn't like a handsome, strong fox mountain spirit? The comedy, romance and action tied together very well to create one big masterpiece. The second season has finally started to come out: “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938”. I am currency watching it and it is absolutely amazing. It moved away a bit from the romance aspect of the first season, but the storyline and comedy don't disappoint. I would recommend this TV-show to anyone who likes fantasy, action, romance and comedy.
