Grand River Stanley Park Library first opened as our Sunnyside branch within the Sunnyside retirement residence in 1971. The branch relocated to a larger facility within Christ Lutheran School in 1988 and was expanded in 1998. In 2002, the new Grand River Stanley Park Library opened in partnership with the Waterloo Region District School Board as a shared facility attached to the Grand River Collegiate Institute.

The Lyle S. Hallman Pool, the Grand River Recreation Complex, Grand River Arena, Freeport Health Centre, Chicopee Ski Club, and many local businesses are located in the Chicopee-Grand River ward. Stanley Park Community Association opened a new community centre in 2005. The Centreville-Chicopee Community Centre also serves this area.

There is a high level of support in the community and customers of all ages use the Grand River Stanley Park Community Library to meet both their informational and recreational needs.

Grand River Stanley Park Library is home to many creative and digital maker tools, including our digital embroidery machine.
