Transgender Day of Remembrance honours the memories of transgender, Two-Spirit and non-binary people whose lives have been lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. Transgender people, especially transgender people of colour, face some of the highest rates of violent crime in the world. In 2023, 70% of trans youth in Canada reported experiencing sexual harassment or violence.
Transgender Day of Remembrance is recognized on Thursday, November 20. On this day and all days, it is important to elevate trans voices. We've brought together a range of library and community resources to help you learn more. We share resources to connect trans people with trans stories and to give allies more opportunities to support trans people.
