Past issues of Kitchener (formerly Berlin) and Waterloo County newspapers may be viewed on microfilm in the Grace Schmidt Room.

To view newspapers on microfilm, please ask library staff to set up a microfilm reader for you. Microfilm reels are stored in the file cabinets in the Grace Schmidt Room and are organized by newspaper name and date.

Records of births, marriages and deaths, translated from some of Waterloo County’s German-language newspapers, can be found on the bookshelves in the Grace Schmidt Room.

Due to high levels of use, newspapers on microfilm are not available for interlibrary loan.
