DATABASES
The
KPL subscribes to a number of useful
databases. Databases that allow searching
of magazine and newspaper articles (many in full-text)
are a good place to start. Ask staff at any KPL
location for help.
• Canadian Business & Current Affairs
• Canadian NewsStand
• CPI.Q Canadian Periodical Index
• General Reference Center
Access
to these four databases is available from home.
Access
online databases here. You will be asked for
your library card number and PIN.
•
Financial Post Advisor
This
database from the Financial Post must be used
in the library, but it has some powerful features
that can be used in the context of fundraising.
Primary among these is the “Lead List Generator”.
There are a number of ways to use this search
function. As an example, one could use the FP
Directory of Directors and search for directors
that are graduates of a specific university.
