Edna Staebler Writer-in-Residence
About the Edna Staebler Residency
In 1996, Kitchener Public Library’s Writer-in-Residence program was established by acclaimed author and library advocate, Edna Staebler. Her intent was to provide local writers with the expertise needed to develop their craft, as well as encouragement to “keep at it.”
Thanks to Edna’s generous financial endowment, we are able to invite Canadian authors of significance to participate in the Writer-in-Residence program.
Note: We look forward to hosting our next Writer-in-Residence in our newly renovated and expanded Central Library in the spring of 2014.
