Grand River Stanley Park Community Library

About the Library

The Stanley Park Community Library first opened as the Sunnyside branch within the Sunnyside Home, a retirement residence, in 1971.  The branch relocated to a larger facility within Christ Lutheran School in 1988.  A decade later, in 1998, Christ Lutheran School and the library was expanded.

In 2002, the new Grand River Stanley Park Community Library opened in partnership with the Waterloo Region District School Board as a shared facility attached to the Grand River Collegiate Institute.

The Lyle S. Hallman Pool, within the Grand River Recreation Complex, Grand River Arena, Freeport Health Centre, Chicopee Ski Club and many local businesses are located in the Chicopee-Grand River ward.  The Stanley Park Community Association opened a new community centre in 2005.  The Centreville-Chicopee Community Centre also serves this area.

There is a high level of support in the community and customers of all ages use the Grand River Stanley Park Community Library to meet both their informational and recreational needs.
