Rosetta Stone
Rosetta Stone Language Learning software is accessible from designated PCs at the Main Library, and each community library. Languages are English, French, Spanish, German and Italian.

(English as a Second Language)
Kitchener
is an increasingly diverse city with approximately
one quarter of its population born outside Canada.
This means that there many people whose first
language is not English.
To
help learners and teachers of English as a Second
Language, Main and each of the community libraries
have a selection of books, CDs, audiocassettes,
videos, and CD-ROMs to help learners and teachers
of English as a Second Language.
Topics
include vocabulary, pronunciation, listening,
reading, communication, grammar, idioms as well
as TOEFL and other tests of English. Dictionaries
are available for loan and for use in the reference
section of the library.
Ask
the staff for help in finding the materials.

Languages
KPL also has books, CDs, cassettes and videos
to help you learn a language other than English.

International Language collection
at the Main Library provides books and videos
in over 20 languages including:

KPL
also subscribes to a growing number of magazines
and newspapers in other languages. Currently,
we subscribe to magazines and newspapers in:

- French
- Chinese
- Vietnamese
- Dutch
- Spanish
To
find out what we have in a particular language,
do a SUBJECT search in our online
catalogue for the desired language, and add
the words "language materials" after
the language; for example: "German language
materials", then browse the list of all of
KPL's holdings in that language.
