Strategis Trade Data Online - Tip Sheet

1. Select Trade by Product to get a list of goods that Canada imports from and exports to the country of your choice.

Imports: things brought to Canada from other countries.

Exports: things sent to other countries from Canada.

2. On the left side of the box:

Trade Type:
Choose either total exports or total imports.

Trader:
Select CANADA unless you are interested in a specific province.

Value in:
Select $ Canadian (Current Dollars).

3. On the right side of the box:

Time Period:
Select Latest 5 Years.

Trading Partner:
Scroll up/down (arrows on the right side) to find the country you are interested in, and click on it to highlight it.

Product Search:
Choose Top 25 Products.

4. Click on Run Report.
This will give you a list of the top products imported/exported between Canada and the country you have chosen. You may want to ask an adult to explain the products.
