Wi-Fi HotSpot

 

Kitchener Public Library provides free wireless access to the Internet.

 

Wireless Internet is available during all open hours at each of the following locations:

 

  • Main Library

  • Country Hills

  • Forest Heights

  • Grand River Stanley Park

  • Pioneer Park

 

 

Using Wireless Internet

 

To log on to the wireless network with your Wi-Fi-enabled laptop or PDA device, follow these steps:

 

  1. Turn on/restart your Wi-Fi-enabled device.

  2. Enable your wireless adaptor.

  3. Select SSID/network “KPL Main" or the appropriate library location.

  4. Start your browser.

  5. Accept the library’s Internet Access Policy, which takes you to the KPL website.

It is the responsibility of the library customer to configure his/her laptop to access the wireless service.

 

Printing is not available through the wireless network.

 

A wireless hotspot is not a secured network environment. Keep this in mind if you are accessing confidential personal or business information. It is the responsibility of the library customer to take appropriate measures to secure his/her data and equipment.
